Board of Education

Steven was born in East Hartford and has been happily married to Jan Wysocki since May, 1998. He has two children, Alden, 16, and Lea, 14 who both attend the Lyme-Old Lyme schools. He and his family have lived in Old Lyme as weekend residents for 15 years and became full-time residents as of June 2019.

Steven is a self-employed technology consultant working primarily with small businesses and individuals. He was formerly the Director of Technology of Baron Capital, a mutual fund company with $22 billion under management. Additionally, he worked as Social Media Guru for Wendy Long (R, NY) for US Senate, 2012. 

He served on the board of the Philosophy Day School, NY, NY in 2013. Served as Communications Governor on the Board of Directors for the Old Lyme Country Club, Old Lyme, CT from 2015-2018. 

He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He supports the Museum of Art and Design, NY, NY, Riverkeeper, NY, NY and the Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme, CT.

Additionally, Steven is a golfer, has a chicken micro-farm for delicious fresh eggs, and continues to try to successfully raise honeybees. Please vote for Steven Wilson for Board of Education on Tuesday, November 5th!

Board of Education

Suzanne has been active in our community since moving to Connecticut in 2002.  Suzanne and her husband Brent have two daughters in Region 18 schools. Suzanne has a broad background in politics, public policy and corporate communications, working as a legislative aide in the US Senate, as a public information officer in a Federal financial regulatory agency and handling media relations, employee communications and publicity for life sciences corporations, including Pfizer.

A former Girl Scout leader and Lymes’ Youth Services Board member, Suzanne is passionate about affordable high-quality public education in our towns. She also serves as an Old Lyme appointee on the Connecticut River Gateway Commission and was elected chairman last year. She is an active member of Duck River Garden Club, leading its youth outreach and scholarship programs, Lyme-Old Lyme Community Connections network for non-profit organizations and Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce.  

Suzanne’s professional career since 2005 has been shaped around raising their two children.   She has written for The Day and its weekly publications and hosts a weekly radio talk show, CT Outdoors, on WLIS 1420 AM/Old Saybrook.  In 2015, she became a public outreach coordinator for Connecticut Fund for the Environment, launching the Save Oswegatchie Hills Coalition, seeking to protect 236 acres of coastal forest abutting the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve,  

Suzanne has Bachelor's degrees in Horticulture and Journalism from Kansas State University and a Masters degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. Board of Education

Work brought Jenn Miller and her family to Old Lyme in 2001. Two sons, now in their twenties, went through the OL schools. Recently retired, Jenn enjoyed her time in various accounting, finance, and business operations management roles helping to improve the efficiency and quality of services. Jenn was accountable for budgets ranging from $400 to $960 MM over 13 global locations, including technology and capital improvement budgets. Working with and leading diverse teams solving complex challenges for Pfizer, as a CPA for KPMG Peat Marwick and as an Army officer were among her favorite experiences. Jenn is currently serving her second term on the Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut Board of Directors, as a board member and member of the merger, fundraising and grant writing committees, and was the former Treasurer. She is always looking for volunteers!
