ZONING COMMISSION

Committed to Community, Dedicated to Progress.

SLOAN DANENHOWER

Zoning Commission

Sloan Danenhower currently serves on the Sound View Harbor Commission and the Harbor Management Commission. Both positions are a natural reflection of his 35- year career as Tug Captain for New York Harbor. Having watched various development issues come forth before the town, he felt the time is now right to step up and participate in an active and meaningful way. As a lifelong resident of Old Lyme, he is acutely aware of the various proposals and activities impacting local zoning. Sloan fully understands the natural and distinctive beauty of our shoreline town and will work hard to manage thoughtful development with a mindful watch on its costs to our town — both financial and environmental. Sloan is married to Jude Read. They have 2 adult children, Will and Megan. He will bring a unique, fair-minded voice to Zoning. Get to know him. He won’t disappoint!

JANE MARSH

Zoning Commission

Jane has been an elected member of the Old Lyme Planning or Zoning Commissions for 37 years. She served the region as a member of the Connecticut River Estuary Regional Planning Agency for almost as long. The State of CT has honored her for her dedicated service to community. Attorney Marsh believes in serving the needs of people in her community with emphasis on efficiency and fairness. She is the senior member of the Zoning Board and brings a wealth of history and knowledge to the zoning process. By continuing her service, Jane wants “to keep a watchful eye on the one-size-fits-all zoning laws, regulations, and rules being floated among legislators in Hartford.” Jane received her law degree in 1980 from the University of Connecticut (cum laude). She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, general counsel for the Connecticut Farm Bureau, and municipal attorney for the Town of Deep River. She has resided in Old Lyme for her entire life.
