
Carlos Piña
Board of Education
Carlos Piña is a lifelong advocate for children and families, with a career rooted in service, education, and community engagement. A retired employee of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, Carlos has dedicated his life to improving outcomes for young people.
He previously served four years on the Board of Education for the Consolidated School District of New Britain, including four years as Vice Chairman. Currently, he works as a Family School Liaison with Meriden Public Schools, where he builds partnerships between families, educators, and the community to support student success.
Carlos has also coached student sports in the Meriden school system and brings a hands-on approach to student development and achievement. After seven years as a seasonal resident, Carlos and his wife Janice Delgado Piña are now full-time residents of Old Lyme, where they recently built their home and fully embraced the community.
A proud father of four accomplished daughters—Alyssa, Celinez, Gabriella, and Jordan—Carlos is passionate about expanding learning opportunities and ensuring every student receives a high-quality education. With his deep knowledge of board governance, firsthand educational experience, and heartfelt commitment to children, Carlos is ready to bring his leadership to the Region 18 Board of Education.
