Board of Finance Alternate

Michael W. Presti is a seasoned educator, Coast Guard veteran, and committed public servant who brings deep experience in budget management and educational leadership. As a candidate for the Board of Finance (Alternate), he’s ready to apply his expertise to help keep Old Lyme’s spending disciplined and taxes in check.

Highlights of Service and Experience:

• Holds B.A. and M.A. degrees, plus an M.A. in Education Administration from UConn

• U.S. Coast Guard veteran with 24 years of service

• Co-Chair of the Old Lyme Harbor Commission

• Current school teacher, Athletic Director and  Dean of Humanities at the Inter-District School for Arts and Communication (ISAAC) in New London

• Experienced in preparing and reviewing school budgets

• Longtime Old Lyme resident with wife and two daughters who attended the Lyme-Old Lyme School System

• Brings education-sector insight to the Board of Finance—especially valuable given the school district’s significant share of the town budget

• Committed to controlling spending and maintaining reasonable taxes in Old Lyme
