TOWN TREASURER
MATTHEW WARD [Unaffiliated]
Matt was the Assistant Accounts Manager for the Town of Deep River for a number of years, where his duties included budgets, payroll, accounts payable/receivable and other general accounting functions. He has served as Second Selectman for the Town of Old Lyme since 2021.
Matt holds B.S. in Accounting from Bryant College. His in-depth understanding of Old Lyme’s finances as the selectman make him a perfect candidate for Town Treasurer.

Matt proudly served as a Connecticut State Trooper for 20 years, stationed at Troop F in Westbrook

After retirement from the State Police, Matt served as a part-time police officer in Old Lyme and Deep River

He recently started a new job as a staff accountant for the reputable accounting firm Mahoney Sabol in Essex.
Personal:
Married to Tara and has lived in Old Lyme for over 17 years. They have five children, all of whom have attended or are currently enrolled in Region 18 schools.
